Programmes
As part of its initiative to disseminate information, EE&REM centre organizes awareness, demonstration, training programmes etc. for general Public, specialized groups & professional bodies etc. The details of major Programmes conducted during 2015-16 are given below:-
Unnat Chullah
A National Programme was launched by Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Government of India for promotion of improved biomass Cook stoves for providing clean cooking energy solutions and reduces drudgery of women and children through emissions. The main objectives of unnat chullah are:-
- To develop and deploy improved biomass cook-stoves for providing cleaner cooking energy solutions in rural, semi-urban and urban areas using biomass as fuel for cooking.
- To mitigate drudgery of women and children using traditional chulha for cooking.
- To mitigate climate change by reducing the black carbon and other emissions resulting from burning of biomass for cooking.
EE&REM centre in association with Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, GOI has organized demonstration programmes for general public residing in rural background areas of Delhi like Parparganj Village area, Bhalaswa Dairy etc. The purpose of these demonstration programmes was to provide knowledge, working and benefits of Unnat Chulla for Domestic use.
Participation in Indian International Trade Fair- 2015
EE&REM Centre under Department of Power participated in the Indian International Trade Fair 2015 (IITF-2015) held at Pragati Maidan, Delhi from 14th Nov to 27th Nov 2015. The theme was dedicated to ENERGY EFFICIENCY & RENEWABLE ENERGY with a motto “Go GREEN with EE&REM”. Film on Solar energy with message on Solar energy from Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi & Hon’ble Minister of Power was the highlight of the participation.
Brochure containing information about net metering, energy conservation tips & Roof top solar PV etc. were distributed to general public with the aim to enhance their knowledge about renewable energy and energy conservation aspects. In the brochure, so distributed there was a separate page to test the knowledge of general public by means of some questions.
The questions were designed on the basis of information available in brochure. Citizen of Delhi participated in large number in quiz programme. Daily three lucky draws were conducted to identify winners & on spot Prizes were distributed to the winners of lucky draw. With the help of this campaign EE & REM centre was able to create awareness among around 50,000 visitors.
Solar Skill Development Programme "Surya Mitra"
One of the important role of SNA is to create a trained manpower & skill development through capacity building programme, education, training etc. Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Management Centre, Department of Power, GNCTD has launched a residential Solar Skill Development Program named “Surya Mitra” sponsored by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), Indian Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi – 110003 has been selected to conduct this programme for the first batch in Delhi.
It is a three months residential program comprising of six hundred hours training including one hundred hours of soft and entrepreneur skills that focuses on skill development on various aspects of installation and maintenance of Solar Photo Voltaic projects. General Guidelines and Course Curriculum of the program are given on National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) website. The training covers basics of technology, installation, hands on practice, preventive maintenance, troubling, etc. with full practical and hands on training. They are being trained free of cost and are expected to be gainfully employed.
One Day Awareness Program on Energy Efficiency & Energy Conservation for Residents Welfare Association (RWA's)
EEREM has organized One Day awareness program on Energy Efficiency & Energy Conservation on 8th March 2016 for RWAs at Auditorium, Delhi Secretariat. The programme was attended by various RWAs & delegates from various organizations. Two LED bulbs were distributed to each participant to promote Energy Efficiency & Energy Conservation.
Chief Guest of the program Hon’ble Minister of Power inaugurated the One Day awareness programme by lighting the Lamp. Apart from Energy Efficiency & Energy Conservation, Hon’ble Minister in his address requested RWAs to promote the Solar Energy. Secretary (Power), GNCTD also emphasized on conservation of energy and utilization of energy efficient equipments. The lectures were also arranged from the eminent speakers in the field of Energy Efficiency & Energy Conservation and Solar Energy.
Major highlight of the lecture sessions was programme on LED based Domestic Efficient Lighting Programme (DELP) for domestic users by EESL, a session on solar Energy by Dr. Kesari (Delhi Technical University).Various questions were asked by the participants and an open discussion was held. Various suggestions were also given by the participants.
The one day awareness programme on Energy Efficiency & Energy Conservation was a success and ended at a note to encourage others to follows Energy Efficiency & Energy Conservation measures in their vicinity and in nearby places.
One Day State Level Meet For Certified Energy Auditors and Energy Managers
Power Minister of Delhi, Sh. Satyendra Jain inaugurated the One Day Technical Meet of Certified Energy Auditors and Energy Managers at Delhi Secretariat on 30th March, 2016. The meet was organized by EE&REM Centre, Department of Power, Govt. of NCT of Delhi in association with National Productivity Council. The Secretary (Power) GNCTD, Deputy Director General, National Productivity Council, officers from Bureau of Energy Efficiency, EESL, TERI, etc. were present in the program. More than 120 Certified Energy Auditors and Energy Managers from various field participated in the event.
This was the first ever interaction at state level in Delhi which provided the platform for knowledge sharing, exchange of ideas and networking in order to make substantial progress in the field of energy efficiency and energy conservation. The officers of Power Department informed about various steps taken for energy efficiency and energy conservation, especially for the Government buildings across the state including Delhi Secretariat.
