Residential Consumers:
- Residential consumers in Delhi who want to avail the central financial assistance (CFA) under the PM Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana should register on the national solar portal as a first step and follow the process as given below
Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Consumers:
- As C&I consumers in Delhi are not eligible for the CFA, they can follow the process prescribed on their respective Discom portal.
Net metering process/ RTS application for consumers:

1. | Consumer registers on the national rooftop solar portal through the link https://www.pmsuryaghar.gov.in/ |
2. | Consumer logs into their account and submits application for rooftop solar (RTS) |
3. | Discom conducts technical feasibility (TF) of RTS application and issues the TF approval letter via email, if requirements are met. |
4. | Consumer approaches any registered vendors in their respective Discom jurisdiction empanelled on the national portal for plant installation and submits detailed information of the RTS system to Discom |
5. | Once installation is complete, the consumer submits documents related to installation to their Discom and on the national portal |
6. | Discom conducts site inspection and approves plant if installation complies with technical standards. |
7. | If plant installation is approved, Discom installs net meter and solar meter on-site and the system can be energized. |
8. | The Discom updates net meter installation details of the consumer on the national portal. An online commissioning certificate is generated which will be visible in the consumer’s account on the national portal |
9. | Consumer submits their bank account details and a cancelled cheque through the portal. If bank details are found to be correct, the consumer receives national subsidy (CFA) in their bank account within 30 days. |
10. | Consumer shares their bank details with the Discom with a copy of a cancelled cheque to avail of state capital subsidy and GBI*. Discom transfers the state capital subsidy and GBI against consumer’s first electricity bill issued post net-meter installation |
*GBI payments will be valid for five years from the date of commissioning of the system, provided the system is commissioned within the three-year operative period of the Policy.
